The Bell at Sapperton – a 15 mins car journey away with a drive out with lovely traditional pub food. What always makes us smile is the parking area is directly outside the entrance for horses, not what we expected to see on our first visit!

Cheltenham  – we feel so lucky to live in the remoteness of the countryside yet just a ten min drive from one of the most beautiful towns in the UK – a continental vibe in the cafes and parks, restaurants galore, theaters and not least multiple festivals throughout the year including the famous horse racing.

Privithi – not on the cheap side but definitely a fine dine experience that makes it worth it for those special celebrations – be organised you have to book weeks in advance!

Elkstone Studios – Walking distance (40 mins) – a transformed farmyard turned vibrant destination. Enjoy a food hall, bakery, café, design showrooms, and fashion boutiques. As a wellness hub, it offers a hair salon, aesthetics studio, osteopathy, and more. The Elk Tipi hosts events, pop-ups, and workshops, and also provides fitness facilities like Padel and a gym, plus exclusive seasonal events.

A Little Further Away

Stow on the Wold is the quintessential English town with examples of the most beautiful examples of the famous Cotswold stone houses complimented by a fine selection of shops, a mix of chic bistros, Cotswold inns, and cosy tea shops – great for an afternoon amble.

Cheltenham Racecourse  – Kissing the beautiful Cotswold countryside, Cheltenham Racecourse was voted the greatest racecourse in the world by The Racing Post in 2019. Each of the three magnificent Cheltenham Racecourse enclosures gives a stunning view of the alluring surroundings. We have often enjoyed a great day out with lots of fun and laughter and not to mention the famous Cheltenham Festival which is amongst the most anticipated events on the horseracing calendar.

About Cotswold Country Escapes

This is our Narnia which we love and are truly blessed by, the daily scenes of pheasants, Birds of Prey, hares, deer, partridge and most importantly limited human beings! This, coupled with amazing walks and two cotswold pubs in walking distance, truly makes this a place we do not want to leave.

Willow, our boutique double braced shepherds  hut, provides unique luxury accommodation in the most peaceful and perfect setting, privately nestled in its own little copse. Guests are free to explore the surrounding fields and public walks, with the most glorious views across the churn valley.

As sisters we are lucky enough to be well travelled and have taken our personal experiences of what we have loved to add little extras that will help to make your stay memorable:

Cannot recommend Willow enough!!! We visited as a belated honeymoon and were blown away. Communication from Julia and Tanya was outstanding from the very beginning and so helpful and warm From the moment we turned up we knew this place was even more special than we could have possibly imagined. Everything is so clean and stylish yet has the amazing homely, cosy feel. The bed was a dream, the bath everything you could ask for and the outdoor tub was so fun. We had everything we needed provided in the kitchen, robes were lovely and comfy and even slippers. We only wish we could have stayed longer, even the miserable January weather seemed almost magical when inside Willow listening to the rain on the glass roof panel with a log fire burning and playing games! From the moment you drive to this Cotswolds destination, you know you have arrived  somewhere very special, tranquil, calm and simply stunning countryside. The double shepherd's hut is in its own private grounds, tucked away with ample parking. As soon as you go through the door you know that the hosts know what they are doing and have made every effort to ensure that your stay will be special. A soak in the copper bath or hot tub together with an excellent bed and crisp white linen guarantees a good nights sleep. We were lucky enough to spend an amazing three nights at Willow, one of which included Valentine’s Day. Michael & Julia really went above and beyond as hosts – providing ingredients for a cooked breakfast for our first morning, Prosecco and cupcakes on arrival & arranging a surprise flower delivery for Valentine’s Day! The outdoor log-burner heated hot tub was definitely the highlight for us! Michael was incredibly attentive when we struggled to keep the fire going one night, he popped round straight away to help. A hot tub under the stars is a perfectly romantic way to relax! The indoor bath was also just as good! There were so many added touches that made our stay – the slippers, robes, amazing lavender toiletries, indoor log burner, scrabble and the air fryer!! The list could go on. Everything had been thought about to ensure our stay was as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. We honestly cannot recommend Willow and Michael & Julia’s hospitality enough. We’re already dreaming about our next stay.
